I am always excited whenever we visit our grandfather, who lives in a nearby province, because I love family gatherings! An awesome day trip with family, lots of food and stories to tell, and most of all I can play with my cousins again-Woohoo! It's going to be a lovely day! My grandpa's backyard is by the lake and has lots of trees and chickens, so we could get some shells, eggs, and fruits. The main dish would always be grilled milkfish prepared by our grandpa. Before we went home, we witnessed the pink sunset. It was special because I watched it with my loved ones.
I woke up at around 4:30 in the morning. I was excited because my family experienced memories for a 5-day vacation in Baguio. I took a bath while the rest of my family were busy preparing. I already packed up my things the night before. My parents cooked for our early breakfast such as the "itlog maalat" with tomatoes, daing, sardines with egg and pandisal. Hmmm the food was yummy and delicious! We happily ate together while sharing our thoughts and expectations for our trip to Baguio. My siblings helped in packing our "Baon" for our trip while I started putting on comfortable clothes for our travel and for the cold weather in Baguio. Then, we went straight to the Victory liner bus terminal station in Cubao.
My name is Shawn. This is my family. This is my story. My mother's cooking is my favorite. We have the happiest family in the world because my parents met.
We children should have fear of God. We need to pray to God for blessings and guidance. This is the world I live in.
I walked on the beach with my family during the summer. We took food to eat on the beach. Swimming in the beautiful, transparent sea felt great.
We hurry to school every morning. We take a Jeepney, which people use for public transport here in the Philippines. The Jeepneys are colorful, and they are not expensive.
We had a simple celebration for my father's birthday. We bought a cake and sang "Happy Birthday." We all love our father, and we had a really good time.
I buy fish balls at a shop after school. I give the shopkeeper three pesos, and he gives me three fish balls. I am happy eating the fish balls.
The city of Cebu holds the big Sinulog festival every January to celebrate the baby Jesus. Dancing contests take place in the streets. The dancing is to emphasize how important Jesus is in our lives.
We went on a field trip to the city of Cagayan de Oro. We had fun in a Jollibee fast food restaurant there. We crawled around and slid on things and teased each other. Everyone had a good time.
Every Saturday and Sunday I go to the market with my mother. She has a stall in Divisoria (a Manila commercial district). She displays bilao (bamboo baskets) and puts products like tomatoes, fish and melons in them. I shout, "Come one! Come all! Buy from us!"
Monday
Every Monday afternoon, I go with my mother, grandmother and elder sister to the cemetery to light candles and place flowers on my grandfather's grave. We pray after cleaning the grave.
Everytime there are no classes especially on Saturdays and Sundays, we often play blind man's buff. I am the "it" and my eyes are blindfolded. I cannot see who I am chasing. You need sharp senses. The first person I catch is "it" the next time.
