Every night before I go to bed, I pray to share merit and benevolence with all living creatures, with all those who have passed away, including Preta hungry ghosts and Sambhavesi spirits awaiting rebirth, and with guardian angels. Please all come to receive merit.
This is my first pet, a beetle. And I call him Uan. He likes to eat plant stems. He also likes bananas.
I drew this picture of farmers because farmers grow rice for us. I admire how farmers work long hours outside under the sun and rain to grow the rice. Rice is important to Thais as our staple food. Farmers work especially hard during the harvest season to harvest the rice. So I want everyone to eat their rice down to the last grain. Do not waste even a single grain. That is why I drew this picture.
I went to the Grand Palace with my family. Lots of animals followed me when I went into the temple to pay my respects. The air was pure and cool and felt good. Inside the Grand Palace were big elephants and beautiful stars. Monsters were chatting outside.
We have a big family. We live in the countryside. My brother and I like to play with clay. We make animals and other things. The time is coming soon for the Kathina festival, when we pray to our ancestors and make offerings at the temple. Our relatives come back to our ancestral village to participate in the festival.
The sun was rising in the sky. A bluebird was singing. This morning, my dad and I got up early. My father and his friends needed to cut bamboo to make the rocket for the Boon Bung Fai festival. My father and his friends had to find bamboo stalks that were straight and of the same length. I fetched tools for them and gathered bamboo for my mother.
This year, my parents took me to Amphoe Pai, in Mae Hongson Province, for New Year's. The tourist guide took us on an evening boat cruise to see the beautiful scenery. I got to see the impressive sight of elephants taking a bath. The elephant keepers wiped off the elephants with towels, and the elephants didn't mind. The elephants looked like they were having fun spraying each other with water.
My father and mother took my big sister, Pii Freud, and me to the Wien Thien ceremony at Wat Pa Lelai temple on the Buddhist holiday Visakha Bucha. Each of us bought a bouquet of flowers, a candle, and some sticks of incense. We took off our shoes and walked around the assembly hall. The wind almost blew out the candle, and I had to use my hand to keep it burning. Wax dripped on my hands. The wax was hot, but I could stand it. I felt happy to take part in the Wien Thien ceremony.
My father bought me a new dress. It has a flared skirt, like Cinderella's. I like it a lot. I wore it in front of a mirror and turned left and right and even danced. "Father, thank you for making my dream come true."
My little brother and I feed the water buffaloes for my father on the weekend. We also take them to the water and play there. When it's raining, the ground is slippery. We sometimes slip off of the water buffaloes. Sometimes, we hurt ourselves on the shells of the shellfish. If it rains really hard, we get under a shelter and wait for our father to come and take us home.
Zebra crossing.
Every day my friends and I use the zebra crossing to keep us from getting hit by cars. Today the traffic was worse than usual.
Traffic jam in Bangkok
This morning is the same as every morning. I have to wake up very early in the morning to go to school. If I go to school late, the traffic will be very bad. I take the bus, but usually the bus is very crowded. If the traffic is terrible, I have to get off the bus and walk to school in order to be on time.
My community consists of five families. All are related. We share what we have and what we earn. Every morning I see an attractive sight. Everybody gathers in central ground where a well is located. They come to fetch water and to bathe. Some feed chicken. Mother dog leads their puppies to the shade under trees. Children come to play. Community members love and help one another. We are strongly united.
