Baby on back
My sister and I got to go to the highlands to play. The terrain is hilly and mountainous, so people usually walk to get where they need to go. We met a girl about seven years old who carried a baby on her back to school because her parents were busy at work. That girl listened to birds singing and looked at flowers blooming as she walked to school. "I'm used to it," she said, "so I don't get tired at all." Hearing that reminded me that the world is a beautiful place.
My village is beautiful. The forest is golden and the sea silver. The local people are diligent. The fishermen start working every morning before the sun comes up. Besides the people who go fishing, some go to clam shacks, and some go into the parrot forest.
Fabric Vendors
At the Tet New Year's holidays, my mother always takes me to Hom market to buy fabric for making ao dai ethnic apparel. She says that wearing ao dai makes Vietnamese girls more beautiful, gentle and graceful. I like to choose fabric for ao dai. Each piece has a beautiful pattern and feels soft. I wanted my mother to buy everything that the vendors had to sell.
The Path to the Rice Terraces
The harvest season for the rice terraces has come. The rice paddies are glowing yellow and promise to yield a bountiful harvest. We still see spots of green. The landscape here is fantastic.
The Water Trucks
We are all responsible for protecting the environment. We need to clean our streets during the Tet holidays of the lunar New Year. Water truck drivers sprinkle water on the streets in the daytime and nighttime to keep them clean.
My classmates and I and the kids in the upper and lower grades all went out into the schoolyard during recess today to play fun games, like blindman's bluff, tag, skipping, and follow-the-leader.
Wedding
This is a picture of my parents' wedding. My parents got married a long time ago. I wasn't born yet when they got married, so I can only see the wedding in photographs. My mother was a beautiful bride, and my father was a handsome groom. Our family has a happy life.

My parents took me to the park today. The park has a lot of exciting things to play on, but the fast train is the most popular. I ride, too.
The Uncle Ho memorial in Ho Chi Minh City is where Uncle Ho began his effort to liberate our nation. Valuable objects and papers are on display there. The memorial is beside the Saigon River, and ships and boats sit beside the Nha Rong wharf.
Linh and I went for a walk in the park. The scenery was beautiful. All the birds in the trees were singing. They had wonderful voices.
Grandma and granddaughter.

After we ate lunch, I read a book to my grandmother. While I was reading, she fanned me with a fan.

I went with my father to see the firecrackers at Dam Sen (Lotus Pond). The firecrackers fly into the sky and spread out like colourful flowers. The firecrackers at Dam Sen are more beautiful than other places, because I can see the firecrackers in the sky and on the water.
Monday
This is me. This year, I am in grade four. I am 9 years old. I like hairpins very much.
My three-coloured cat is my friend. In the morning, I go to school and in the afternoon I play games.
