This Chinese New Year was more lively and fun than usual. It was my first chance to spend Chinese New Year with my friends. Look! Paper-cutting pictures cover the windows. My friends and I made them. Aren't they beautiful? We are wearing ethnic Han costumes that bring good fortune and are sitting at a table covered with delicacies. We are following our parents' instructions and making year-of-the-ox poses for a picture. We will enjoy a delicious meal after they have taken the picture.
Monday, The Road That Leads in All Directions
Go to school, go home, play football, go to prep school . . . . Who says that only adults are busy? Children are busy, too! Like me!
"Grandma, look! The sun is going down." The light was still bright, and the sun looked like a red egg yolk. The sun went down gradually. I was excited as I pointed at the sun and talked to Grandma.
Peking Opera
I sat in front of the stage with some older people and watched Peking opera, a treasure of Chinese drama. Listing to the ee, ee, ya, ya intonation of Peking opera was satisfying.

We started a new subject today at school, so I went a little early. I started reading the textbook as soon as I got into the classroom. My classmates arrived one after another, and we did our morning reading. A good day began today with enthusiastic reading.
Amusement park
I rode on a water slide at the Water Cube water park. My little sister was scared and wouldn't ride on the slide. She got soaked in the water.
It is Monday morning. The sun is shining, and a pleasant breeze blows into my room. I have set this day aside for homework, and I will now begin.

The round moon shines in the sky among lots of stars. The willow sways in the breeze, and two sparrows sing and chase after each other. I look at the sky and feel happy: "Oh, how beautiful!"
Today is Chinese New Year. Snow is falling outside. My little brother and I made a snowman. Then, my little brother went to set off firecrackers. I was scared. I covered my ears and watched from a distance.
The old buildings along Hutong Road in Beijing are wonderful. I always take that route home from school. My father told me about the history and culture of the area. One of my classmates lives there. Lots of trees are there, and the whole area is beautiful. I love it there.
Little Hong likes working.
Monday.
On Monday morning. Little Hong's father and mother went to work, leaving her at home. Little Hong, looking at her dirty shoes, put on an apron like a grown-up, poured some water in a tub, and brought some soap and a brush. She sat on a little chair, put the dirty shoes inside the water, and started washing them carefully with soap. In a short while, she finished washing the shoes and the shoes were clean. Look how she loves working.

After the three-day trip to Yueyang City, Dad takes me home by train. It is the first time for me to be in train. How interesting it is!
